March is reading Month, but March is also women's history month! This week we will learn a little bit about famous women from history, starting today with Florence Nightingale. Nightingale was a famous nurse who lived in the mid-late 1800's and really improved healthcare quality. After reading a book about her, we talked about how nurses help people. Then we made our own special band-aids and our own pretend hospital. The students had fun wrapping each other's pretend "boo boos" with some pre-wrap. This morning we also started adding books to our book graph! Don't forget to have your student return their library card with signatures on the back for each new book your have read together. Another new feature we have in our room is the writing center. After attending a conference for preschool teachers over the weekend, we got a lot of great new ideas for activities and centers that will make our classroom even better!
