Another eggceptionally good day in preschool! Our theme today was ducklings and we read two duck books, Duck for President and Duck and Goose. We learned all about the 3 main parts in every story--beginning, middle, and end. Help your preschooler figure out these parts in the stories that you read at home. One of our stations included using the Puppet pals application to create our very own stories.
We also practiced putting together egg puzzles and we even used our feet to make duckling pictures!! For science Miss Carey helped us hypothesize what happened to peeps when they are put in the microwave and then we got to test it out! We liked the taste testing part the best!! The day ended with playing outside in the warm sunshine. What a great day!

The rain couldn't keep our cel-egg-bration down today in the Kozy Heart preschool room! We started the morning with our circle time and read The Easter Egg, by Jan Brett. The story is about Hoppi the rabbit, who helps a bird in need by keeping her egg warm until it hatches. We then made our own hatching easter eggs, and even practiced keeping them warm! Today we also opened the Kozy Heart beauty salon! It was time to give our friends the Grassheads a nice trim. Check out the students' handiwork... there were some very edgy 'dos! In the afternoon we completed our Easter-themed math and science centers!
If you would like to try this experiment at home, you can download the worksheet we used by clicking HERE.
Today we read Happy Easter Little Critter by Mercer Mayer. We also used water color paints to decorate Easter eggs and practiced our counting skills and number recognition with the Easter bunny. For science we observed what happened when we dropped food coloring on napkins followed by spraying it with water...tie dye eggs! Overall it was an eggcellent day!
This week in our preschool room our theme is Easter. Click here for the plans. We would like to hear from you if you celebrate or do anything special for Easter or Passover in your home. This information will help us anticipate questions and/or comments from the students this week. Remember, Kozy Heart will be closed on Friday, April 6th. |
