Today was the finale of our Superhero week! After math centers and kindermusic, we tried something new: listening to a batman and superman podcast! The preschoolers had to use their ears to listen, and create pictures of what they were hearing in their mind. After lunch, we participated in the best rainy day activity- painting! We experimented with mixing colors and created some beautiful free-choice art. After our last day working on the current math centers, we did two super fun superhero games: Kryptonite Clean Up and Bad Guy Beat Down. We had a lot of fun being super heroes this week!

Today we started our Superhero Week. We read Atomic Ace: He's Just My Dad by Jeff Weigel and talked about how there can be real life superheroes. Some of the real superheroes in our lives: mom, dad, doctors, police, firefighters, and paramedics. The students discussed how real life superheroes do things to help and sometimes even save other people. For art we went outside to do some Spiderman "web" painting. We used cooked spaghetti noodles dipped in tempera paint to throw at our evil blank paper villain. In another station, students played with Ivan Ooze's ooze in a sensory tub. We used recycled crepe paper, water, and ivory soap to make our ooze. This week's centers This weeks literacy centers are:
ABC sort- students match lowercase letters to uppercase letters in a sorting tray. Alphabet Soup- draw out letter tiles and put in ABC order. Literacy Journal Entries-This will very day to day. We started with self-portraits. Superhero Story-Each day we will add a new part to our stories. |
